Monday Moaning

We have poisoned our land.

GM crops were created to improve the yield of crops by allowing the weeds to be poisoned…

Now the weeds have become ‘superweeds’ resistant to the poisons…

Threatening the newly gained yields…

Back to square one!

It has been reported that some of the ‘superweeds’ have capes, wear coloured pyjamas, leap tall crops and halt combines in their tracks.

“How is the chemical industry responding to this threat?  Zap it harder!”

Zap it harder???

What with?

“The industry is pressing the U.S. and Canadian governments to approve GM corn engineered to resist 2,4-D.”

Now they want to use Agent Orange… The defoliant used in Vietnam.

Wow!!! For every “super” weed killer, chemical, antibiotic, etc. … “super” organisms develop which are resistant. And while this war rages, we get caught in the “friendly fire”.
