Usually vitriolic, at times bellicose; I'm not here to be nice
Each Friday, something to think about
A walk on the natural side each Sunday (or Monday...)
The Apothecary - A place to find natural products and remedies
So how have we gotten so far off course? When the label of ‘green’ was introduced, it was seen as a mission statement; something that would entitle the customer to some sense of comfort that they product they were supporting (which was usually more expensive) was working with the Earth’s best interests at heart. Instead we have simply completed a full consumerist revolution; the label has been taken, assigned a cultural identity and used to sell a piece of a lifestyle that is intended to speak more to your peers than to subsidize an environmental commitment.

I have a neighbor who moved here two months ago, he is seven years old. I cannot go outside to do any kind of work without him asking if he can help or questioning me on how to do what I am doing. Because he has been so active in helping around the gardens he has also been curious about how the food tastes. His mother is stunned because he is now eating food he has refused to touch prior to eating it out of my garden. Yes, let’s give children something to imitate.

>Lois, looks like you’re doing that. 🙂
There are some things that parents don’t/can’t do for one reason or another. Kids aren’t stupid, they’ll look for a mentor like yourself.

Well, for this boy he just moved here from a very urban area where yards were non-existent so he’s thrilled to be out and learning.
